Tour Description

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect to have a tour of a lifetime. You’ll be kayaking, hiking, crossing a stream, and swimming under a waterfall. Most importantly, expect to have fun!
You’ll kayak for 5 miles along the Wailua River, hike for about a mile on a newly-installed boardwalk for a much more pleasant and easy experience, until you reach the 100-foot waterfall called Secret Falls where you’ll enjoy swimming in the pool, take pictures, have snacks and remember how beautiful life is.
The river has no current for the most pleasurable kayaking experience. You will most likely get wet and muddy on your hike. The entire trip takes about 5 hours.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

We try to make it as easy for you as possible. We will provide a double kayak, all necessary equipment such as paddles, personal flotation device, a backpack style dry bag and of course- an awesome guide.

WHAT TO BRING

The most important thing to bring is water friendly shoes (tennis shoes, water shoes – something that is strapped securely to your feet, NO FLIP FLOPS), swimsuit, sunscreen, a towel, bug spray, water and a snack. We will provide you with a dry bag backpack to put your items into. We recommend you bring a ziploc bag for your phone or a waterproof case, if you have one. You’ll want to take lots of pictures the entire time!

WHEN AND WHERE

We check in at the office location where you’ll meet the rest of your group and your guide will do your orientation. The office location is : 4-361 Kuhio Hwy, Suite 106. Kapaa, HI 96746. Look for the Stand Up Paddle shop. Our shop is conventionally located 1/4 mile from the launch ramp. After check in, everyone will drive their own car to the marina where you’ll get into your kayaks and start on your beautiful journey up Wailua River. When you’re done with your trip, you can head on your way, without having to go back to the office.

GUIDES

All of our guides are CPR, first aid, and water safety trained. They are highly knowledgeable about the island, professional, and best of all- they love what they do – giving their customers an amazing tour!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS

Although previous experience is not necessary, people that want to participate on the tour should be in MODERATE PHYSICAL CONDITION. No heart problems, bad knees, bad backs, and no large open wounds. Participants should be comfortable in the water and enjoy hiking and physical activity. Participants must be a minimum of 6 years old. We do not recommend this activity for pregnant and/or older individuals, especially when it has been rainy weather. The trail can be potentially challenging or slippery for someone who is not in good physical shape. However, our guides will help you to cross the river if needed. Moreover, the newly- installed boardwalk makes the hike much easier and more pleasant than it has been for years. If you have doubts, please give us a call and tell us about your situation.
