Fun Afternoon Paddle and Hike Very scenic kayak paddle and hike to Uluwehi falls. Both the paddle and the hike were a little more difficult than us 60 year olds had anticipated but it was manageable and worthwhile. Deja was a terrific guide and full of interesting history and naturalist info. The falls are gorgeous.

Fun afternoon activity My husband and I are decent kayakers so we thought this would be a fun activity. Brian was our guide and he did a fantastic job. Very interactive and full of songs and stories. The tandem kayaks took us a second to figure out, but we did not struggle as many other people did! The river trip was two miles there, two miles back. Along the way, Brian gave us some history of the island, river, and mountains. Once we docked we started our 1.5ish-mile hike in the mud! I cannot emphasize this part enough. THE WHOLE TRIAL WAS MUD. We had a great time but if you are not prepared for this, then I can you would like not like this. Lots of slipping and falling down. Also, the secret falls are not a secret. There were probably 50-60 other people and tours there. We went under the waterfall which was fun but very powerful. I would not do this if you are not confident in your water abilities. After this, we ate the snacks that we brought along and packed in the provided dry bag (this reminds me, we did not do the tour that provides lunch and we are grateful because it was just a ham and cheese sandwich). After this, we hiked the 1.5ish-miles back. Brian picked up the pace because the water was rising and he was concerned about the river crossing. Everyone made it back safe and sound, and Brian was kind enough to airdrop a ton of photos to people. In total, we did seven miles round trip. The only reason I did not give this tour a 5/5 is that you could have done this whole thing on your own and saved yourself some spending cash, but oh well!

The reviews were spot on What a fun adventure ! As others have said Brian is a great guide. Full of funny stories, songs and enthusiasm - Brian is so much better than the other guides we could hear explaining the sights. The other guides seemed to monotonously repeat the tour highlights but Brian made it fun. This tour was also less expensive than the others because you brought your own food and drink. The paddle and hike are strenuous and not suited to someone uncomfortable with slippery slopes, mud and a paddle 45 minutes each way. Brian also made it unnecessary for us to pull our phones out of the water proof bags. He shot dozens of great pictures for each couple then airdropped them to us at the conclusion.

Hmmmm Would I do it again??? Ok, my husband and I managed to turn a 1 mile kayak trip into 4 on the way to the hike by zigzagging from shore to shore. I would suggest discussing paddling techniques before if you have not done anything like this before. Maybe paddle length is what it is so you can't hit your partner with the paddle...lol. (We did much better on the return trip and are still married.). Hike was not as muddy as we had heard and that was just fine. Hardest part of the hike is the area closest to the falls. Worth the effort but someone might have to bribe me with drinks to do it again.

Fun in the sun, hiking in the mud Brian was a great guide and entertained the group with stories of the area and bringing along bird seed to give to the local birds along the hike. Gave everyone on the tour attention.

Great adventure Amazing trip, the sights were incredible. The guide was funny and very informative. Kayaking was easy Evan for a couple of beginners. The hiking was not bad either, not too muddy. I would definitely do it again.

Great fun and great guide We had Brian as our guide for this trip and he was amazing! He was very funny and full of stories and information about plants and birds. He has a lot of bird friends that come to him when they hear his voice or whistle. We were lucky in that it hadn't rained much so the trail to the secret falls was not muddy and we were able to stay clean and make good time. Brian had provided all of us with walking sticks and that also helped a lot. We were able to get in the pool at the falls and get photos of us behind the falls- first time I have done that! The kayak up to the falls was pretty easy but going back we had to go against the wind and it was a lot harder.. I was pretty happy to see the marina. Definitely recommend this trip and Brian!
